GOAL

We want to design a card game in which you collect all the reviews by author.
This way we highlight that the information is created with open source and we share this information by making cards you can collect physically.
Kwartet is used to playfully educate all ages. We want to design this qwartet to get more familair with free software.
The collected quartet will show an overview of what is there to use on the webz.

SET UP

There are 24 authors who each wrote 4 reviews, this equals 96 game cards.
The game can be extended by each time you add 4 new reviews by the same author or even by a new one.

INSPIRATION

Examples of what a quartet can look like:

RULES OF THE GAME

  • Quartet is played with three or more players, with the aim to win all the quarts (sets of four). You collect cards from other players by asking for them.
  • Each card usually has a number and letter (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B etc. ) in the top right or left corner of the card.
  • The cards are shuffled and divided equally between all the players and the cards get held face up in a players hand.
The player to the dealers left starts by asking another player if they had a certain card (example, card 4C) which would help the player create a quart.
If the player does have the card, then they hand it over. If the player doesn't, then it becomes her or his turn to ask. As long as you ask successfully you can carry on asking.
  • When a quart is created, or a complete quart was dealt, then the cards creating the quart are placed in front of the player.
  • The game ends when all the quarts have been created.
  • The winner is the person with the most quarts.

CARDSIZE

We decided to use 14x11 cm oblong. In that way we visualize a screen. Cardsize.jpg
